Vayotsar has a height of 2581m. This truncated cone-shaped mountain is located northwest of Herher village. Mount Vayotssar is an extinct volcano whose crater is 125m deep. The mountain also has the names Gizh Sar, Koghovasar.
There is an opinion that Mount Vayotssar is the youngest volcano in Armenia, although its last eruption was about 40,000 years ago.
In terms of mountaineering, Mount Vayotssar is quite popular because it is not difficult to pass. Beginner mountaineers mainly come here. When reaching the top of the mountain, the view of the crater attracts even more experienced visitors, so the mountain is never short of guests.
