Lake Kari is located on the slope of Aragats, at an altitude of 3200m. The area is 0.12 sq. km, depth reaches up to 8 meters. Volume 375 cub. meters: The water of the lake is stagnant, cold and crystal. According to some versions, the lake is artificial. Thanks to this, he was able to raise the water level and bring water to the Amberd stream, which came from the Kasakh River. Eventually this stream dried up. The Arkashen River originates from this lake. The lake remains cold all year round because it is surrounded by cold mountains. Near Lake Kari there is a station for studying cosmic rays, which was founded by the Alikhanyan brothers. The station receives water from this lake. A concrete wall is located on its southern shore to prevent water leakage. This caused the water level to rise. The lake is home to the Ishkhan fish species, the number of which is growing due to an artificial increase in the population. The route to the Southern and Western peaks starts from Lake Kari, at an altitude of 3200m. Vishapakar stands near the lake.
