For us hikers, it is never superfluous to talk about Yeranos Mountain or Azat Reservoir, however, until recently, many of us could not imagine that another beauty could be hidden from all of us in this area, the Pink Gorge.
Pink Gorge was recently discovered during the 2021 expedition. It is located in Ararat Region, in the Yeranos Mountains, and the locals were well aware of the gorge, but it was not named. It got the name “Pink” due to the rich geological formations in the canyon with many shades of pink.

The Pink gorge route can be started from different places: Verin Dvin, Lanjazat villages of Ararat Region, and also while kayaking or supboarding in Azat Reservoir.
While walking through the gorge, you can see Yranos and Anapatan mountains, stone columns with a special structure from the point of view of geology, layered stone rocks formed in different periods, pyramids of several meters hight, and if you have time, you can also see the Makar cave.
