TWO DAY WINTER HIKING TOUR IN SEVAN AND DILIJAN

Mount Artanish and The Girl’s Fortress

 

Day 1. Yerevan – Mt Artanish – Sevan Peninsula – Dilijan

In the morning after breakfast we will start the trip to Lake Sevan.
On the way we will have a coffee stop at the foodcourt in Tsovaghyugh.
After the stop we will head to the slopes of Mt. Artanish.
Hike to the top. There is a fantastic view of the two parts of Sevan Lake, because the location of Mt Artanish is right where the lake separates in two parts.
Lunch on the top.

Trail length: 6km
Relative height: 600m

After the summit we will descend to the car and head to Seavn Peninsula to Sevan Monasteries (10-13c).
Sightseeing.
Dinner at a restaurant on the shore of Sevan where you can taste the famous and tasty fish of Lake Sevan – Ishkhan.
Trip to Dilijan.

Overnight in Dilijan.

 

Day 2. Dilijan – The Girl’s fortress – Haghartsin – Yerevan

In the morning after breakfast we will head to the start point of the hike.
Hike to the Girl’s Fortress.
The Girl’s Fortress is standing on all sides on high and inaccessible rocks, surrounded by pyramidal walls. The walls of the fortress and interior are made of basalt, which has a bluish tint.
Lunch of on the top.
Back to the car.

Trail length: 10km
Relative height: 400

 

After the hike we will head to Haghartsin Monastery Complex (10-13c).
It’s an incredible illustration of the medieval Armenian architecture with different churches of different centuries.
Dinner in Dilijan.
Back to Yerevan.
