Everest Base Camp Trek - 15 days

The journey to the top of the world starts from a fairly high place, from the beautiful city of Lukla, through the narrow valley of the Dudkosh river. Before reaching Namche Bazar, passing by the small villages of Chaurikharka, Ghat, Pakding, Benkar and Jorsalle, you will begin to experience the Sherpa hospitality, their culture, the spiritual atmosphere provided by the numerous prayer walls, prayer wheels and monasteries.

Namche Bazaar is the highest town in this region. Here you will have two days for both acclimatization and tours around Khumjung village. On its way to the base camp through Tengboche and Pangboche, the trail offers great views of Mount Everest and many other peaks, and challenges you to encounter challenging treks at high altitudes.

Dingboche village, located at an altitude of 4410m, is the last and highest village on the Everest Base Camp route. Here, too, additional acclimatization is mandatory before going to 5000m+.

After the Tukla Hills, the trail to Everest Base Camp and an overnight stay at Lobuche finally prepares you for the final destination, Kalapattar and Everest Base Camp. Walk slowly and enjoy the dream come true before your eyes.

Everest Base Camp Trek Difficulty

Trekking to Everest base camp is considered difficult due to the heigh altitude.

Mountain sickness is the biggest enemy here. It can start from Lukla (2840m) for those people who have not passed the acclimatization period before leaving for Nepal. For this reason, the participants of our group must climb the Western peak of Aragats before leaving for Nepal.

For the Everest base camp trek, you must have a willing spirit for mountain trekking and prefer to walk a lot. Also, the length of the base camp (130 km), altitude sickness and lack of proper preparation can cause some discomfort during the trek.

Altitude Sickness

The altitude increases day by day till Everest base camp. Kala Pattar is the highest point of this route at 5600m which is the final point to end this trek. The starting point of Lukla is 2860 m, now you can count the height you will gain during the trek. So, the trek you are planning to do is one of the highest mountain treks that does not include summit climbing.

Altitude sickness appears above 3000m, and in case of its exacerbation, measures to improve the condition should be taken immediately, up to even stopping the trip.

Trekking Time and Distance

The trek from the starting point of Lukla to the end point of Everest Base Camp and back to Lukla is about 130 km in total. To cover this distance in time, you need to walk 5-8 hours a day. Anyone who is physically and mentally fit can tackle this route, but prior hiking and mountain experience will be a huge plus.

Weather in Everest Region

The weather in the Everest region is quite unpredictable. it can change at any time. Those who are not usually comfortable with changing weather may face more difficulties during the trek.

Best season For Everest Base Camp Trek

The best time for Everest base camp trek is September, October, November and December. And the best time to climb Mount Everest is only in spring, in April.
