Climbing the highest mountain of the African continent – Kilimanjaro 5895m.
The Marangu or “Coca-Cola” route is the most popular route on Kilimanjaro. This is the only route with an overnight stay in huts, which makes Marangu a good option for trekking during the rainy season.
The route starts from the southeast of Mount Kilimanjaro. This route passes through all climatic zones, from tropical rainforests to permafrost, to beautiful African landscapes.
The tour package also includes a safari tour in Ngorongoro crater.
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) from where you will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi.
After breakfast, you will head to the eastern entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park, to the Marangu gate (1860m). The road will pass through chagga villages, fields of sweet potatoes, manasawa, beans, corn, coffee and banana plantations.
Here the heavy bags will be handed over to the porters.
Attention: According to the rules of the park, each porter can carry not more than 20 kg of luggage.
After obtaining a climbing permit and registering with the search and rescue service, the group will start hiking to the Mandara camp (2700m).
The route includes a transition through the rainforest (where there is a high probability of tropical showers), so we recommend you to take not only spare clothes, but also a raincoat.
Throughout the Marangu route you will spend the night in special huts. They offer a great alternative for those who don’t want to sleep in tents.
