WINE TOUR IN ARMENIA - THE HOMELAND OF WINE MAKING

Armenia is one of the oldest wine producing regions in the world and its wines are known for their rich and unique flavors. This four-day wine tour in Armenia is an excellent opportunity for travelers to taste some of the most famous Armenian wines and learn more about the history and culture of wine in this country.
As part of this tour, we plan to visit the main wine-growing regions of Armenia: Vayots Dzor region, Yerevan, Kotayk region and Armavir region.

Day 1. Yerevan - City Tour - Ararat Brandy Factory

Transfer to the hotel. Our representatives will meet you at the Zvartnots International Airport and take you to your hotel. After you have settled ay the hotel room and a short rest we will start the tour.

Visit to the Erebuni fortress museum which was founded in 782 BC. Here you will have a guided tour.

After Erebuni Fortress you will go back to the city centre and start the main city tour from visiting firstly the Cascade. It is a waterfall-like monument in the heart of Yerevan, which offers a panoramic view of the city. There is also a modern art gallery inside the monument.

After you will continue the tour going down to the Opera Theater, the oldest street of Yerevan – Abovyan street and later to the Republic Square.

The last destination of the first day is Ararat Brandy Factory. Here you will have an excursion arounf the factory and degustation of the world famous Armenian cognac, brandy and wine.

Lunch at the restaurant. After the lunch the tour comes to the end and you will be taken back to the hotel.

Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2. Yerevan - Echmiadzin - Armas Winery

A trip to the ancient capital and spiritual center of Armenia, Etchmiadzin.
Visit to the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, visit to the Church of St. Hripsime.

Trip to the Armas winery.
The ArmAs plantation is an eloquent demonstration of agricultural achievements, with the biblical Mount Ararat towering behind it.
Wine tasting at a winery along with a tasty lunch.
Return to Yerevan.

Day 3. Yerevan - gevorkian winery - geghard - garni

A trip to the Gevorkian Winery.

The wine tour of Gevorkian Winery is an immersion in history in its modern manifestation. High quality and tradition always remain a priority for the winery. Here you will have a wine tasting.
After the tasting, we will go to the pagan sun temple of Garni (1st century AD).
The Garni Temple is the only standing Greco-Roman colonnaded building in Armenia and the former Soviet Union. Built in the ionic order it is standing on the edge of the canyon.

Next we will have lunch along with master class on lavash in a tonir at the restaurant.

After the lunch we will head to the Geghard cave monastery (Spear monastery, XII-XIII centuries). Geghard Monastery in carved in a cave and is considered a perfect illustration of Armenian medieval achutecture. 
Inspection of the Geghard monastery.
Return to Yerevan.

Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 3. Yerevan - Khor Virap - Areni - Noravank - OLD BRIDGE WINERY

Trip to the Khor Virap monastery (IV-XVII centuries) at the foot of Mount Ararat. This monastery offers the closest view to the bibliphic mount Ararat. 
Inspection of the monastery .

Trip to Noravank Monastery (XII). Noravank is a monastery complex located in Gnishik gorge, right in the middle of redish cliffs. 

A trip to the Bird Cave – the oldest winery in the world found by the archiologists in a cave.

Trip to Old Bridge Winery. Here you will have wine tasting along with a tasty lunch at the winery.

Return to Yerevan.
