RANGER TOURS

DAY 1 Yerevan- Sevan- Vayots Dzor

Arrival in Armenia & Excursion to Sevan and Vayots Dzor.

Upon arrival (night or early morning) in Armenia, you will be transferred to your hotel.

In the morning, our driver will pick you up and take you on an exciting journey.

Your first stop is Lake Sevan—the “Pearl of Armenia” and the largest freshwater lake in the region, as well as one of the highest-altitude freshwater lakes in the world. In Sevan, we will visit the Sevan Peninsula, where you’ll enjoy a short excursion. Once an island, it gradually turned into a peninsula over time. Here, you will explore the 9th-century Sevanavank Monastery, built by an Armenian princess.

After Sevan, we head to Orbelian’s Caravanserai. This is a caravanserai in the Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia. It was built along the Vardenyats Mountain Pass. Head to Vayots Dzor, a region famous for its caves, canyons, and vineyards.

We will stop at a charming local venue to enjoy a delicious lunch and taste authentic Armenian cuisine.

Excursion at the Birds cave. In this cave, the world’s oldest leather shoe was discovered, along with the oldest known winery, making it a site of incredible historical significance.

For those interested, there is an optional visit to the Magelan Cave, the largest cave in Armenia. This fascinating excursion lasts 2-3 hours, depending on the group.

After the excursion, we will stay overnight in a cozy local guesthouse, where you can stroll around the area and admire the breathtaking red-orange canyons—especially vivid after the rain.

Day 2 RANGER TOUR

We start our day early at sunrise (about 06:30), just like the rangers, to witness the full process and observe the gathering of endemic wildlife.

• Checking of photo cards

Inspecting the camera traps installed on the territory. This helps the ranger to conduct research for protecting the wild animals.

• Return to the rangers lodge

Its time to look at the best shots of the camera traps, and also learn how the daily workof the rangers is crucial in preserving the wildlife of the protected areas.

• End the tour with a cozy lunch

Together with the ranger you will prepare a delicious dinner from fresh local products. The group will share their thoughts and impressions about tour.

Return to Yerevan. Returning to Yerevan via Khor Virap – a legendary site where Gregory the Illuminator was once imprisoned. From here, you’ll witness the most iconic and breathtaking view of Mount Ararat, one of the most recognized mountains in the world.

In the evening, you can go shopping at local markets and enjoy the atmosphere of Yerevan at night.
