Two-Day Adventure to Lake Rapi and Lake Mtna
Join us on a two-day journey to the high-altitude lakes of Rapi and Mtna — hidden gems nestled on the slopes of majestic Mount Aragats, the highest peak in Armenia. This route offers a unique combination of dramatic volcanic landscapes, alpine meadows, crystal-clear mountain air, and complete immersion in nature.
Day 1
Early in the morning, we will depart from Yerevan and travel to the foothills of Mount Aragats. From there, we will continue by 4WD vehicles to the picturesque Lake Rapi, where we will set up our campsite for the night. After a short rest, we will take a scenic hike to Lake Astkhkan, one of the most beautiful and lesser-known lakes in the Aragats mountain range. After enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and stunning mountain panoramas, we will return to our camp.In the evening, we will gather around a campfire, prepare dinner, share impressions from the first day of the adventure, and spend the night under a sky full of stars surrounded by the magnificent nature of Aragats.
Day 2
We will wake up at the foot of the impressive Northern Wall of Mount Aragats. If weather conditions are favorable, we will enjoy breathtaking views of one of Armenia’s most spectacular mountain faces. After breakfast, we will hike to the high-altitude Lake Mtna, located at an elevation of 3,450 meters above sea level. This remote mountain lake captivates visitors with its pristine beauty, tranquility, and the rugged grandeur of the surrounding peaks. After exploring the area and enjoying some time by the lake, we will return to the campsite, pack our tents, and descend by 4WD vehicles to our meeting point with the main transport. From there, we will travel back to Yerevan, taking with us unforgettable memories of two remarkable days in the heart of the Aragats mountains.
