SKI TOUR IN THE MOUNTAINS | 10 DAYS
DAY 1-2. ARRIVAL. YEREVAN CITY TOUR – ECHMIADZI
Initially, our representatives will meet you at the Zvartnots International Airport and take you to your hotel. Once you have settled into your hotel room and had some time to rest, we will begin the tour.
We will start by going sightseeing at noon in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan.
First, we will visit one of the largest libraries in the world, Matenadaran, a rich collection of ancient manuscripts. Then, passing Radio Yerevan, we will enjoy a beautiful view of the entire city at the foot of the biblical Mount Ararat. We will continue our journey to Etchmiadzin, the religious center of the country, the residence of the Catholicos, the head of the Armenian Church. Here we will inspect the main cathedral built as early as in 303 and have a walk through the landscape in the park with beautiful cross-stones called “khachkars”. Afterwards, we will visit the Church of Surb Hripsime, built in the 7th century, the legendary nun’s place of martyrdom, a masterpiece of classical Armenian architecture.
By the end of the day, don’t miss out on the opportunity to try local cafes and bars around the Republic Square!
Overnight in Yerevan.

The views are inspiring – wide and smooth sides promise an excellent ski tour. Then we will go to the Hellenistic temple of Garni, located on the edge of the Azat gorge. We will finish the day with a dinner at an Armenian private house in the village of Garni, where we can enjoy the hospitality of the family.

DAY 4. SKI TOUR: MOUNT ARA 2575 M (ELEVATION GAIN: 950 M, 3 HOURS)
Today we will be skiing from Mount Ara, which rises about 20 km to the northwest: a free forest and wide ridge with ideal ski slopes.
From the top, looking to the south, we will see Mount Ararat with a height of 5165 m and, in the northwest, the four peaks of Mount Aragats, the highest peak of which is 4090 m.
Dinner and overnight in Aragats Hotel.
DAY 5. SKI TOUR: THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN ARMENIA, ARAGATS
The hardest day of the journey lies ahead. The hike will begin from the village of Aragats at an altitude of about 2000 m. Then we will go by snowmobile to the 2650 m mark. From there we begin our ascent.
About 1300 m must be overcome before we reach the top of the highest mountain in Armenia. In clear weather, our eyes wander over most of Armenia. There is a beautiful view of Mount Ararat and even the peaks of the Greater Caucasus, specifically Mount Kazbegi, of 5047 m, Georgia.
A delicious dinner awaits us at the hotel in the village of Aragats.
(Climbing and skiing on Aragats requires hard snow and good weather conditions.
In case of bad weather, an alternative destination will be chosen.)
Overnight in Aragats Hotel.
DAY 6. SKI TOUR: MOUNT YEGHIPATRUSH 2825M (ELEVATION GAIN: 900M, 3 HOURS)
After the previous tiring day, it’s best to make this day a little easier. First we will visit a medieval church located in Yeghipatrush, after which we will start the ski tour.
Afterwards, we will go to Aghveran National Park, the national ski center in the country.
Dinner and overnight in Arthur’s Hotel.
DAY 7. SKI TOUR: MOUNT TEGHENIS 2854 M (ELEVATION GAIN: 900M, 4 HOURS)

DAY 8. ALONG THE ANCIENT SILK ROAD, MOUNT ELTUN 3100M
We continue to the southwest of the country, to the Selim Pass. This is the second highest pass in Armenia, about 2400m.
Today’s goal is the peak of Mount Eltun – 3100 m. After a long rest at the top we will start coming down. Along the famous Silk Road we reach the only well-preserved caravanserai from the 14th century. We will continue our journey, moving towards Vayk.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Vayk.
DAY 9․ KHOR VIRAP – YEREVAN
Now that we’ve completed six ski tours, we want to take advantage of our last day in this diverse country and explore the plains of Ararat on our way back to Yerevan. Here, according to legend, Noah planted the first vine after descending from Mount Ararat.
The Ararat valley plays an important role in the country’s viticulture. We will visit the Khor Virap monastery, located at the foot of the biblical Mount Ararat. The temple was built over an underground prison in which Gregory the Illuminator, one of the seven Catholicoses of Christian Armenia, was imprisoned.
As a goodbye party, let’s enjoy the magnificent Armenian wine and cognac!
